Early Warning Scan is a new non-invasive breast cancer screening method using advanced 3D imaging techniques. The concept relies on detecting minuscule distortions in the breast surface motions due to the presence of a tumour. Making it easier to detect breast cancer at an earlier stage, in a younger population and without a painful mammography.
Since 2023, the Sioux Social Impact Program has been supporting its development by setting up a mechanical model of the breast and performing numerical simulations of breast tissue dynamics, using physics-based modelling.
Our talented intern, Rebecca, has worked on the latest advancements in our breast tissue simulation model, paving the way for more accurate and effective cancer detection.
Sioux want to give the employees the opportunity to work on non-commercial projects to make the world a little more social and/or sustainable. The Sioux Social Impact Programme is open to anyone with a good idea for a project in which Sioux can use technology to add value in the areas of health, sustainability and community.
