Sioux initiated a cycle of additional exclusive events to dive deeper into relevant topics in the Future of System Engineering.
This last episode of the Hot-or-Not cycle on the Future of Systems Engineering is about the one thing that's applicable for all previous topics: Tooling. Whether it concerns the methods for AI or the trend of Servitization, you need tools to create solutions. Our guest Ton Peijnenburg is very well acquainted with both the 'thinking’ (fellow TU/e - HTSC) and the ‘making’ (Deputy Director D&E - VDL-ETG) phase of the product creation process.
Where are we now and what challenges lie ahead of us? The presentation will start with a short history of how tooling, in the context of systems engineering, has evolved. State-of-the-art tooling can provide us different cross-sectional system views to help us understand and manage multidisciplinary interdependencies. A holistic view on systems requires interoperability of domain specific tools. What do we believe new technologies like AI can bring?
